The Bangladesh Society of Pharmacovigilance (BSOP) is dedicated to enhancing drug safety by promoting pharmacovigilance activities across the country. It organizes regular meetings and educational events to foster collaboration among healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, and academic institutions. Through these platforms, BSOP addresses the latest developments in drug safety, adverse drug reaction reporting, and risk management practices.

To support capacity building, the society offers affordable training programs designed for healthcare providers, pharmacists, and regulatory authorities. These training sessions focus on improving knowledge of pharmacovigilance practices, ensuring patient safety, and promoting the safe use of medicines. By providing accessible and high-quality education, BSOP plays a crucial role in strengthening the country’s healthcare infrastructure, reducing medication-related risks, and safeguarding public health.

Aims of the society

  • To promote study of the use and effects of the drugs in population in a rational way.
  • To determine risk/benefit ratio of drugs in the individual and in population.
  • To promote applications of principles of clinical Pharmacology to rational prescribing, the conduct of clinical trials and assessment of outcomes during real life clinical practice.
  • To organize training programmes, workshops, seminars, conferences for promotion of Pharmacovigilance.
  • To promote research in pharmacoepidemiology, echopharmcovigilance.
  • To institute awards for the development of research in pharmacoepidemiology.
  • To provide research assistance in the field of pharmacoepidemiology.
  • To award fellowship to eminent scientist from amongst members of the association.
  • To arrange/take up training activities of improved medical educational program.
  • To make awareness among the general public, poor masses and human society/regarding the beneficial program.
  • To established linkage with Govt. Semi-Govt., Non-Govt., Autonomous & Private organization and implement their activities (programs) through deed & agreement.
  • To establish library and reading room for the members and for the use of general public for the purpose of promotion of education related to the medical science.
  • To run educational linkage publish books, reports, journal, magazines, researches related to the objects of the society.
